Bees are sacred in many cultures. The geometry of their designs echoes the harmonic grid in which life arises; their existence is absolutely vital to life on Earth as we know it. Unfortunately, bees are in trouble: as of this writing, one third of the honeybee colonies in the United States has already disappeared. This is due mainly arguably to the effects of pesticides and genetically modified crops on their immune systems, which leave them vulnerable to parasites and disease. One third of the foods humans eat is dependent upon pollinators. If bees disappear entirely, the potential effect on all species including ours is incalculable.
One US dollar from each Muzundrum sale goes to organizations that support and encourage local and urban beekeeping and pollinator research; we'll post details and links here soon.
